The Seven Summiteers

I should have made this part of my first post.... I've had a couple of people ask WHO the Seven Summiteers are. We are a group of moms, wives, working women, and most importantly GIRLFRIENDS from Gaylord (alright LeSueur, New Sweden, Lafayette, and surrounding) area who got to talking about a bunch of things we'd like to do (or do again) "someday" - the "bucket list" (although nobody's dying - phew!) included climbing a 14er (which, I had to ask too - is a 14,000 peak or summit)... Well, these girls don't let any grass grow under their feet, and before we knew it, we were booking flights to Aspen and making "lodging" arrangements. The group includes Summiteer Team Members:

The actual hiking team may increase in numbers as we get closer to the trip - Tera Bjorklund and a CO-friend may be joining us for the hike, among others.... so the name of this site, along with our "nickname" is still under construction, and up for revamping as necessary.... stay posted!!

Thanks for all your interest, enthusiasm, and encouragement already - I truly didn't think this "BLOG" thing would get much interest outside of the group, but I guess I'm (we're) actually going to have to keep up with it now! :)

One Step at a Time....

Well, this should certainly be an adventure..... Not only training for and completing our CLIMB to the SUMMIT of Mt. Elbert, but documenting our progress along the way, through photo and video!! We now have our "official" (ok, it's a definite work in progress) "Seven Summiteers BLOG"..... which we can edit, if it doesn't fit in with Rene's theme and logo (also under development).

I think I have it set up so that we can now ALL act as co-authors on the BLOG, so NOW we have to start bringing the cameras & camcorders along for workouts, and feel free to post, edit, and customize this site to your hearts' desires!!

I'm SO looking forward to this adventure with you girls - I feel so blessed to have treasured friends like you in my life!! So let the training, hiking, blogging, laughter, panting, etc.... begin!!!
